Where is it?
Peppercorn Books is located in Maldon, an old mining town of the Central Goldfields region of the State of Victoria, Australia. Sheltered by the rugged slopes of Mt. Tarrengower, Maldon's nineteenth century buildings and mining relics are virtually intact. The town is famous for both the beauty of its natural setting and its architectural heritage. Only an hour and a half's drive from Melbourne, Maldon is a popular place for tourists to visit.

What is it??
Peppercorn Books is a small but dynamic independent bookshop which stocks a wide range of books for children and adults. Viv Markham has owned and operated the shop for the past 17 years. The emphasis is on books that are an enjoyable and worthwhile read, rather than books that make the bestsellers' lists. Good literature, if you like. This website also promotes the work of local authors of the Central Goldfields region. The list of books on this website is by no means an exhaustive catalogue - more an eclectic selection.
